Assembling The Bass Drum

1. Place the bass drum head on the shell and lay the hoop over the metal rims of the head.
The black drum head
with the TAMA logo is for the front side of the bass drum; the clear
head is for the back or "batter" side.

2. Secure the bass drum hoop to the drum shell by using the T-handled tension bolts which
are inserted first
through the claw hooks and then into the lugs as shown in the picture
above. Four tension bolts without T-handles
go into the four bottom lugs.

3. Now, tighten the bolts evenly - but not too tightly, gust enough to hold the hoop and head
securely to the bass
drum (all of the heads will be tightened fully later, when we start tuning).

4. Insert spurs in the brackets as shown above. set the spurs to allow enough clearance so
that your hands can slide
freely under the front rim of the bass drum when set-up.
