Before the launch of the Bose L1, amplifying live music required quite a bit of bulky, complex gear or major sacrifices in tone and control - often both. The engineers at Bose sought to change that, to create a system that's simple and portable without making any sacrifices in tonal quality or artistic control. The result: the Bose L1 portable line array system.
With the Bose L1, the musicians and their audience hear the same sound at a consistent volume, without the need for separate PA and monitor systems. The Cylindrical Radiator speaker delivers clear, powerful, even sound across the stage and all throughout small and medium-sized venues. Don't drag all that bulky, complicated gear to another performance... the Bose L1 is all you need.
The newest addition to the L1 family of products is the L1 Compact. Weighing in at just 29 pounds and designed to be even easier to set up, the L1 Compact is the most portable system of all. While its slim loudspeaker array is smaller than those of the other L1 products and can't project sound quite as far or with as much volume, it produces comparable horizontal sound coverage. The bass speaker is integrated into the power stand, and the loudspeaker array fits neatly into the front when space is a premium or can be placed atop the included extensions to achieve greater sound coverage.
