Nearly 15 years since the phenomenally successful Baby Taylor was introduced, the good folks at Taylor Guitars have done it again. Wanting to continue in the spirit of the Baby while delivering even more of the features found on full-size guitars and delivering tone that'll knock your socks off, they created the new GS mini. Though only slightly larger than the Baby, the Mini delivers more volume and much greater depth and richness of tone. It also features an inlaid rosette and purling lines, a pickguard and a full-size soundhole, so it feels even more like a "real" guitar, not a cheap toy like so many small-scale guitars on the market.
Just like the Baby Taylor, the GS mini's small size makes it perfect to take it with you wherever you go. It's as easy to take on the road - or even to fly with - as it is to sit back and enjoy at home. And the size and quality aren't the only things the Mini has to enjoy; it's also very affordably priced. And while it doesn't come with a pickup already installed, it's designed to make the optional ES-Go pickup (detailed below) quick and painless to set up if you want to play your GS mini through an amp or a PA system.
Accessories Coming Soon:
The ES-Go Pickup
The ES-Go is a magnetic soundhole pickup designed specifically for the GS mini. All you need is a screwdriver and a few minutes to install it, and you can plug your Mini into an acoustic amp, PA system or recording device for great amplified sound. Head over to the Taylor website and you'll find a several-step photo guide that explains the entire installation process - you can see what a snap it is to hook up before you decide to buy your own.
Taylor V-Cable
With the ES-Go pickup installed, the GS mini will work with any ¼-inch instrument cable, but the V-Cable offers added control that other cables don't. The Mini doesn't have any onboard controls, so the V-Cable features a master volume control built into the cable. It's a perfect companion to the ES-Go pickup, and helps to keep your setup compact enough to go everywhere you and your Mini do.
Check out the Taylor website for more information, and read about it in Wood & Steel while you're at it.
