Yamaha's NCX line inherits many of its characteristics from traditional classical guitars, like its fingerboard width and neck contour, but it also brings in the perfect modern touches like low string action, slick cutaway bodies and a great preamp system to reach a perfect blend between old and new.

Guitars in the NTX line feature more contemporary appointments than their NCX brethren. With thinner bodies, more narrow necks and 14th fret neck joints, NTX guitars bring the sweet sound of nylon strings into a form more comfortable to steel-string players. They also offer less traditional finishes than the NCX line, such as black or flamed maple tops.
